Insider Air Travel Tips That Will Save You Money Every Time
There are many ways to save money when you fly. Here are some favorite air travel tips that are sure to save you time and money every time you fly.
Tip #1
Make sure that you are purchasing your air flight ticket with the same exact name as it shows on the ID you will be using at the airport. This should be your full legal name.
If you have a middle name and it shows up on your identification, include that when you buy your ticket. Airport security is much different today that it was in the past. If the name on your ticket and ID donât match exactly, you could really complicate your travel plans. They may even disallow you from flying.
Tip #2
When you book your tickets, if there is a connecting flight, choose the option that allows the most time in between flights. Delays are very common today.
Also, as the days wears on, the more likely it is that planes will become more and more off their schedule. You want to do everything you can to make sure you make your connecting flight and get to your final destination. Those flights where you have less than an hour to make a connecting flight make look attractive, but they do not allow much room for problems and delays. It is better to spend a couple extra hours in the airport if it means not missing a connecting flight.
Tip #3
Forget the notion that tying a big red ribbon on your luggage is a good idea. There was a time when this made sense, because it made it easier to pick out your luggage. The problem is that everybody has a big red ribbon on their luggage to today. The other problem is that most luggage is black. Great, black luggage with big red ribbons, they all look the same. One other problem is that the ribbon can get ripped off. The best traveler tip is to buy luggage in a bright color like blue, red, orange or pink. That is how to make your luggage easy to spot.
Tip #4
There is a difference between direct flight and nonstop. Although these may sound the same they are very different. A direct flight can and often do stop at other airports along the way to the final destination. You are not required to change planes, unless there is a problem, but there can be one or more stops along the way. These extra stops can dramatically increase the time it takes to get to your destination.
A nonstop flight is the best. It goes from point A to point B without stopping and will get you there fastest.
Keep these tips in mind the next time you fly and they will save you time and money.
